The Stardust protective floor mat has been specially developed for high-traffic training areas. With its generous 1000 × 1000 mm format and selectable thicknesses of 15 mm or 20 mm, it reliably protects floors from the impact of fitness equipment, free weights, and intensive training sessions. At the same time, it reduces noise and vibration and ensures greater safety during training thanks to its non-slip surface. The characteristic Stardust design with cream-white flecks not only gives the mat a high-quality look, but also makes dust, chalk, and minor everyday dirt much less visible than on solid black rubber mats.
The mat is made of SBR rubber with a PUR overlayer in the Stardust design. Both layers are permanently bonded using a heat-laminating process – for maximum durability even under regular heavy loads.
The generous 1000 × 1000 mm format allows for quick and uncomplicated self-installation. If required, matching ramp elements can be added to create a clean finish for the training area.
Cut edges of rubber mats generally do not need to be sealed or additionally treated after cutting. The material typically does not fray and can be laid directly after a clean, straight cut.
For the cleanest result, we recommend cutting the mat with a sharp utility knife and a sturdy cutting guide in several shallow passes. Any loose rubber particles should be removed afterwards.
Discoloration on light or sensitive floor coverings cannot be fundamentally ruled out. The Stardust floor protection mat is made of SBR rubber with a coated top side. This top layer does not prevent direct contact between the rubber underside and your floor.
In particular, with vinyl and PVC floors, prolonged contact with certain rubber materials can cause permanent discoloration. With light gray cement screed floors and laminate, compatibility depends on the respective surface and sealant. We cannot therefore provide a blanket assurance that no changes will occur.
We recommend clarifying compatibility with the manufacturer of your floor covering or the flooring installer before installation. If necessary, a migration-inhibiting separator layer suitable for both materials should be used. A test in an inconspicuous area can provide initial clues, but does not reliably rule out long-term discoloration.
Yes, the Stardust floor protection mat is also suitable for heavy power racks and is designed for both private and professional training environments. The Stardust mat is made of robust SBR rubber granulate with an additional, durable surface layer. This is permanently bonded to the underlying rubber layer through a hot lamination process and is designed for intensively stressed training surfaces. Here is an overview of the key differences from our standard floor protection mat:
1. Load Capacity: Both mats are suitable for setting up heavy fitness equipment and racks. The Stardust additionally features a particularly durable top layer. A flat-rate maximum load capacity in kilograms is not specified for the mats.
2. Slip Resistance: Both variants have a slip-resistant surface and provide a stable foundation for strength training when installed properly.
3. Material: The standard mat is made of compacted, recycled rubber granulate. The Stardust has an additional high-quality, hot-laminated surface layer.
4. Appearance and Maintenance: While the standard mat has a classic black granulate surface, the Stardust is characterized by its cream-white speckled finish. This means dust, chalk and minor soiling are less noticeable during training.
Both variants are available in the format 100 × 100 cm as well as in 15 mm and 20 mm thickness.
Our Recommendation: In principle, both floor protection mats are suitable for setting up a power rack. For normal strength training without regular dropping of heavy dumbbells, 15 mm is usually sufficient.
If you also desire higher impact and vibration damping, we recommend the 20 mm version. The Stardust is a particularly attractive choice if, in addition to robust floor protection, you also value high-quality surface aesthetics. For particularly heavy racks with high point load, you should also ensure adequate load distribution under the base feet and a load-bearing substrate.
